Common questions.
Everything I get asked, in one place. If your question isn't here, email graham@noaussieleftbehind.com and I'll answer.
What do I get for the money?
A complaint against each firm the form finds, drafted in your own words. Your estimated loss, with the working shown. A lodging page with a copy button for every AFCA answer. You read it all and change anything before you lodge.
If AFCA is free, why would I pay you?
You do not need to. AFCA is free, and Take Your Super Back has a free complaint form. What stops most people is writing it up and working out the loss. That is the part I do. You see your estimate before you pay anything.
Macquarie or Netwealth paid me back. Is this still for me?
They returned your capital. The growth your super would have earned in your old fund can be a separate claim against the advice firm. You see your own estimate before you pay.
How do I know this is not a scam?
Check me first. My ABN is registered to Graham Marsland Pty Ltd. I never contact you first. I never ask for your AFCA login, your account numbers or your documents. You lodge yourself, and any compensation goes to you, never through me.
What if I cannot afford it?
If you cannot afford this, email me at graham@noaussieleftbehind.com. Same documents, free. I will not ask why.
I was with InterPrac. Does the court case affect me?
InterPrac is challenging AFCA in the Federal Court. AFCA is still accepting and investigating InterPrac complaints, and says to lodge as soon as you can. It will not make final decisions on them until the court case ends. I cannot tell you when that will be.
Have I missed the deadline?
AFCA has paused the deadlines for the firms in this collapse and will give notice before any return. Your own time limit still applies: six years from when you first knew of the loss, or two years from a firm's final response to your complaint, whichever is earlier.
Who are my complaints against?
Your complaints are against the firm that gave you the advice, and the trustee of the super fund your money went into. The companies that ran Shield and First Guardian are in liquidation, and claims against them go to the liquidator. The form works out who your complaints are against.
What happens to my answers?
They are used only for your complaints. I never sell them. I share them only with the services named in my privacy policy, which this service needs to work. They are stored in Australia, and I delete them if you ask.
Does an AI write my complaint?
No AI model writes any sentence of your documents. If you use voice, an AI model writes down what you say and may suggest corrections. You approve or reject each one.
Who are you?
I am Graham Marsland, an accountant by training. I did not lose money in these collapses. Someone I know did, and the paperwork nearly stopped them. I am not a lawyer or a financial adviser, and I do not act for you at AFCA.
What if I pay and change my mind?
Change your mind within 14 days and I refund you in full, for any reason. After 14 days, the rest of a plan is still due.
